What Is Wall Saw Cutting?
Wall saw cutting (also called track sawing) uses a diamond blade mounted on a rail that is fixed to a vertical concrete wall. The saw travels along the rail and cuts a straight, accurate line through reinforced concrete and steel reinforcement. Because the blade follows a fixed track, the cut is perfectly straight and the depth is precisely controlled.
When Wall Sawing Is the Right Choice
Wall sawing is the standard method whenever you need a straight opening or cut in a vertical reinforced concrete wall. Common scenarios include.
- Creating a new door or window opening in an existing RCC wall
- Cutting lift shaft and stairwell openings
- Forming expansion joints in walls
- Removing or modifying a concrete partition wall
- Cutting ventilation and duct openings
How Deep Can a Wall Saw Cut?
Our track-mounted wall saws cut up to 730mm deep from one side. For thicker walls, we can cut from both sides or switch to wire sawing, which has effectively no depth limit. Most Dubai residential and commercial walls are well within the single-side capacity of a wall saw.
Why Not Just Break the Wall?
Percussive breaking (jackhammers) transmits vibration that can crack surrounding concrete, damage finishes and disturb occupants. It also produces rough, jagged edges that need extensive making-good. Wall sawing, by contrast, produces smooth, straight edges that need minimal finishing — and it cuts through rebar, which breaking cannot do cleanly.
Safety on Load-Bearing Walls
If the wall is load-bearing, wall sawing must be planned with structural awareness. We assess load paths, install temporary propping where required, and remove cut sections in a controlled sequence that maintains structural stability throughout the work. Always coordinate with your structural engineer for load-bearing openings.
